East football star Seven McGee ruled ineligible to play this season — September 6, 2019

((MARK/1SHOT)) A TOP HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER WON’T TAKE THE FIELD THIS FALL. THE STATE PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION SAYS SEVEN MCGEE OF EAST HIGH SCHOOL IS INELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOOTBALL. MCGEE IS CONSIDERED THE NUMBER TWO RUNNING BACK PROSPECT IN THE COUNTRY. A FEW MONTHS AGO—MCGEE MOVED TO CALIFORNIA. WHILE THERE—THE SCHOOL HE ATTENDED WAS INVESTIGATED FOR MISCONDUCT. THE FOOTBALL COACH, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AND SOME ADMINISTRATORS WERE SUSPENDED. AFTER MOVING BACK TO ROCHESTER — AND BECAUSE OF THAT INVESTIGATION — MCGEE HAS BEEN RULED INELIGIBLE TO PLAY. DR. SHAUN NELMS — EAST HIGH SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT SAID THIS IN A STATEMENT. “ON BEHALF OF SEVEN AND HIS FAMILY, WE WILL APPEAL THIS DECISION SO THAT THIS YOUNG MAN CAN HAVE AN EQUITABLE CHANCE TO PURSUE HIS ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC ENDEAVORS AT EAST AND BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL.” NELMS WILL HOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE THIS AFTERNOON — AND WE’LL BE THERE.
