Football – Running Backs Position Group Preview (2019)

Rebel fans, let’s get right into our next position
group preview. We’ll head to the
running back room, a group that is loaded
heading into 2019. Scottie Phillips returns
for his senior season. Number 22 exploded
onto the scene as a JUCO transfer last year, scoring two touchdowns
in his Rebel debut. He finished his first
year in the red and blue with 928 rushing yards and
14 all-purpose touchdowns. He’s excited for what 2019 holds with new OC Rich Rodriguez
calling the shots. Yeah, he’s a guy that’s
know what he’s doing. He’s a smart coach, and I
feel like he going put me in situations that
I’ma be successful in, so it make it easy on me. I really wanna get that
a thousand-yard mark, that’s one of the main reasons
I came back for my last year. I just wanted to make that
accomplish for myself. Joining Phillips in the
room are Isaiah Woullard who scored four
times as a freshman, all-purpose weapon Tylan Knight,
junior D’Vaughn Pennamon, and highly-touted freshmen
Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy. They all bring a different
element to the Rebel offense. Competition everywhere. Feel like we got a lotta guys that can do a lotta
different things, just each back have their
own different style. Like me, I’m just a
downhill running back. Snoop Conner, he’s another
guy that’s downhill. Ealy has that speed
dimension to him. D’Vaughn, he’s a bigger back, and he got a lot of guys
in the back, in that room, that’s gonna do some good
things for this year. This group has lofty
goals here in 2019. We’ll see if they get
off to a great start when the Rebels take on the
Memphis Tigers on August 31st.
