Pearl preps for second season playing 6A football

IT’S TIME FOR SPORTS, WHERE YOU’RE ALWAYS WELCOME TO SMILE. YOU CAN’T TEACH EXPERIENCE, THAT ONLY COMES WITH TIME. THAT WAS THE CASE FOR THE PEARL PIRATES LAST SEASON, WHEN THEY MADE THE MOVE TO THE STATE’S HIGHEST CLASSIFICATION, 6A. GROWING PAINS AT FIRST. THEY LOST 4 GAMES LAST SEASON BY 7 POINTS OR LESS, A FINE LINE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING. NOW, THE BABIES HAVE GROWN UP. PEARL STARTED 10 SOPHOMORES IN 2015. THE ONLY ADVANTAGE OF BEING THROWN IN THE FIRE EARLY, EXPERIENCE. WITH A YEAR UNDER THEIR BELT, JOHN PERRY FEELS THIS YEAR COULD BE A SPECIAL ONE FOR HIS PIRATES.>>THEY WERE THROWN INTO THE FIRE PROBABLY BEFORE THEY WERE READY. LOOK AT THE LEVEL THAT THEY PLAYED AT. GODLY — GOT BEAT AT THE LAST SECOND WITH A LAST-SECOND FIELD GOAL. NOW THERE IS A BUNCH OF JUNIORS COMING UP.>>WE WANT TO SAY THAT WE BELONG. AND WE WANT TO WIN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.>>EACH WEEK, WE ARE HANGING WITH THE BIG GUYS.
