Rush on to clear snow from high school football fields ahead of playoffs

HANNAH: GOOD MORNING. WE ARE HERE AT CARROLL
UNIVERSITY, WHERE CATHOLIC
MEMORIAL WILL HOST A PLAYOFF
GAME TONIGHT. CREWS HAVE BEEN OUT HERE FOR
SEVERAL HOURS AND WE SEE A LOT
MORE GREEN THAN WE DID JUST A
LITTLE WHILE AGO. WE HAVE A GROUP OF FOOTBALL DADS
USING A TECHNIQUE THEY SAY THEY
LEARNED FROM LAMBEAU FIELD,
TRYING TO CLEAR SNOW FROM THE
STANDS. THE SCHOOL’S ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
SAID UNIVERSITY MAINTENANCE
CREWS WERE BUSY CLEARING
SIDEWALKS AND ROADS FOR STUDENTS
YESTERDAY. SO THEY CAME OUT AT 6:00 A.M. TODAY TO START CLEARING THE
FIELD. THEY HAVE A GROUP OF FOOTBALL
DADS OUT HERE, TRYING TO LEND A
HELPING HAND. THE A.D. SAYS THIS IS A FIRST
FOR HIM.>>WE CAME DOWN HERE YESTERDAY,
THERE WAS SIX INCHES OF SNOW. THERE’S ICE, A LAYER OF ICE ON
THE TOP, SO HATS OFF TO THESE
TWO GUYS. THEY’RE BUSTING THEIR BUTTS
HELPING US OUT RIGHT NOW. WE’RE PUMPED UP. HANNAH: NOT EVERY SCHOOL IS IN
AS GOOD OF SHAPE AS CATHOLIC
MEMORIAL. SOME SCHOOLS ARE STILL TRYING TO
FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY ARE GOING
TO DO. WE WERE JUST OUT AT BROOKFIELD
CENTRAL, WHERE THE FIELD IS
STILL COVERED. THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT
THEIR STRATEGY FOR MOVING THE
SNOW. AND NEW BERLIN DISTRICT
OFFICIALS TELL ME THEY ARE ALSO
TRYING TO REMOVE THE SNOW, BUT
ARE LOOKING INTO ALTERNATIVE
LOCATIONS FOR THE EISENHOWER
