LA ~ SALLE STUDENTS, THEIR PARENTS AND MANY IN THE COMMUNITY HEADED TO SCHOOL ANYWAY FOR TO BACK-BREAKING WORK TODAY. I THOUGHT MY DRIVEWAY WAS BACK. TO MAKE SURE THAT THE FOOTBALL SEEM IS READY FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM. EVERYONE GOT CAUGHT YOU WILL IN SCHOOL SPIRIT. IF YOU THOUGHT SHOVELING YOUR DRIVE DAY TODAY WAS DIFFICULT IMAGINE IF IT WAS 100 YARDS LONG AND 50 YARDS WIDE. IT’S QUITE A JOB. LA ~ SALLE’S FOOTBALL TEAM IS IN THE REGIONAL PLAYOFFS FRIDAY NIGHT AND THEY NEEDED THE FIELD TO PRACTICE. KIDS, STUDENTS, MOMS, DADS AND FACULTY PICKED UP SHOVELS TO CLEAR THE FOOTBALL FIELD. 94 INCHES OF SNOW SPREAD ACROSS THE FIELD WEIGHS MORE THAN 400 TONS. THE CREWS OF AROUND 40 VOLUNTEERS SPENT SEVERAL HOURS CLEARING THE FIELD. WITH THE SNOW ON THE GROUND AND IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE TEN DEGREES TONIGHT OR SATISFACTORY, IT WILL BE AN ICE PACK. SO IF WE DON’T GET IT OFF TODAY THEY ARE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO PRACTICE ON THE TURF ALL WEEK. IT’S HEAVY, WET SNOW. WITH SNOW IN THE FORECAST THE MESSAGE WENT OUT FOR HELP ON SOCIAL MEDIA SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND VOLUNTEERS STARTED ARRIVING BY MIDDAY TODAY. THIS IS THE COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER, THIS IS WHAT WE DO. WE’VE GOT AN EXTENT FOOTBALL TEAM THIS YEAR THEY’VE BEEN WORKING HARD ALL SUMMER IN THE HEAT WE WILL NOT LET THE COLD STOP THEM ON THEIR TRIP TO COLUMBUS HOPEFULLY. EVEN THE PRINCIPAL WAS OUT TO HELP. HOW HAS IT BEEN OUT THERE? A LOT OF DRIVE CASE, COLD, HARD WORK. THEY HAD THE OPTION TO BRA INSIDE BUT THEY WANTED TO BE IN THE ELEMENTS TO GET READY FOR FRIDAY NIGHT. JENNIFER SCHACK, WLWT NEWS 5. YOU HAVE TO DO THAT. I THINK THE SNOW BLOWER WAS THE WAY TO GO FOR A FEW OF THEM OUT THERE. FOR EVERY PERSON WHO CAME OUT
